When I first got sent this link for a blog I wasn’t sure I was going to actually use it for a blog. I thought I would just send it out as a link for people to use to donate. However, when I was thinking of reasons why I wouldn’t use it I couldn’t think of a reason that wasn’t fear. Fear of not knowing what to write, fear of what people will think of what I’ll write or that I might end up liking it so much I might be posting to much for people. That last one is doubtful, I’m not sure how often I’m going to post here but I don’t think I’ll ever be posting so much that people will get tired of it.
So for this first post I decided I’m just going to start off with why I wanted to go to Romania and Serbia. I’ve felt like God has been calling me to missions as my career ever since my trip to Cuba between junior and senior of high school. Although I didn’t admit it to myself out of fear until I started college. I first decided I wanted to do a summer 2020 trip before my last mission trip this summer to Haiti, which was amazing by the way. I wanted to experience a longer trip than the week long mission trips I’ve been on before. So I started googling summer mission trips. I made a list of ones that I could do and prayed about which one to go on. God lead me to this Romania and Serbia trip with the World Race where I’ll spend June in Romania and July and Serbia. Another reason I chose this is because I love learning about history and this trip happened to be in one of the most interesting regions of the world to me.
I would love to see God use this trip to help me build relationships with the people on my team and with the locals in the areas we will be staying in. For my own knowledge and relationship with the Lord to increase. To maybe even lead someone to Jesus. I don’t know much yet but I have read that I will be doing street evangelism in Romania which is honestly terrifying to me but it will help me to grow in faith. Finally, that God might use this trip to help me learn more about how he wants me do missions as a career.
If you read this and decided you actually want to read more of these there is a button on the left-hand side to be notified when I post again. I might post things like what God is doing in my life right now, prayer requests, other things. I’m not quite sure yet but I’ll probably figure it out within in a post or two.
I am so excited for you! Your desire to grow in faith and take on these new challenges are an inspiration. I’m blessed to call you a friend.
